Mercury Payment Systems And UniteU Partner To Bring Omnichannel Solutions To American Workwear

Partnership delivers true omnichannel experience online and at all eight American’s Whistle Workwear retail stores

CINCINNATI, Nov. 9 2015 – Mercury Payment Systems, a Vantiv company (NYSE: VNTV) and a provider of payments technology and services for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), today announced its partnership with UniteU Technologies, a leading omnichannel platform provider, to bring seamless in-store and online payments to retailers, as well as multi-channel gift card integration. The first merchant to launch with the new offering is American Workwear, a work clothing and footwear retailer that operates eight “Whistle Workwear” branded stores in the state of Washington.

American Workwear has been a growing regional leader in its segment for more than 20 years, with more store openings planned for 2016. The new partnership leverages Mercury’s services in-store with the Microsoft RMS point-of-sale retail system, as well as online with UniteU’s integrated commerce platform.

“American Workwear’s motto is ‘tough clothes for tough people,’ and we’re committed to helping it provide the best possible retail experience for its customer,” said Soumen Das, chief executive officer and founder at UniteU. “Our relationship with Mercury enables businesses such as American Workwear to provide continuity and security across both in-store and online channels.”

In addition to integration and coordination of cross-channel payments, American Workwear customers are also now able to seamlessly use Mercury-powered gift cards,  MercuryGift,  both in-store and online. Customers can also purchase the gift cards online as well. Together Mercury and UniteU deliver a true omnichannel experience, allowing customers to view products available for purchase at their local store, displaying inventory counts and also marketing “online only” products.

“Given UniteU’s expertise and deep retail experience and Mercury’s payments knowledge, it is a natural fit to work together to building American Workwear’s omnichannel platform,” said Matt Ozvat, vice president developer integrations, at Vantiv. “Several of our other retailers are launching with the solution soon, and we’re excited to be able to offer this next-generation shopping experience that retailers are seeking to create.”
