Mercury Payment Systems Announces EMV Card Processing For Canada

Mercury Payment Systems® now offers EMV card processing for Canada. The integrated Chip and PIN card solution improves card data security.

Chip and PIN cards feature an encrypted, embedded microchip that is virtually impossible to replicate, offering multi-layered defense against card fraud.

Developed in partnership with Datacap Systems, Inc., Mercury's solution can be integrated and certified in weeks (versus months). Mercury offers full integration support, and the upfront programming and testing cost is minimal. A 30-day beta merchant trial is not required. Mercury's solution supports the EMV-capable VeriFone Vx810 PIN pad.

"Integrating a chip card processing solution helps point-of-sale (POS) developers keep step with Canada's transition to Chip and PIN electronic payments," said Cindy Marcoux, Mercury's vice president of partnership development.
