Mercury Payment Systems Introduces Comprehensive Security Solutions At RSPA Show

Mercury Payment Systems® today showcases new card data security technology for point-of-sale (POS) systems at RSPA's RetailNOW 2010 show.

MercuryShield™, the company's enhanced suite of security technology solutions for POS systems, is one of only seven emerging technologies selected for RSPA's RetailNEXT spotlight.

The four products that make up the suite reduce risk and costs of compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards for POS developers and merchants:

• TranSentry™, our original MercuryShield integration application, removes the point-of-sale (POS) system from the scope of PA-DSS by eliminating handling of sensitive card data at the POS.
• TranSecure™ combines Mercury's end-to-end encryption and proprietary tokenization technology to provide the best overall security solution. TranSecure removes the POS system from the scope of PA-DSS – and greatly reduces PCI DSS requirements.
• E2E keeps card data safe from theft. Card data is encrypted at the moment a card is swiped or keyed.
• MToken™ is Mercury's advanced tokenization technology that replaces sensitive card data with non-sensitive reference data for long-term data storage to facilitate secure tip adjustment, recurring billing, returns, and card on file.
