Move Over Cork Board, Pinterest Is Here

Enter left stage: Pinterest, another social networking service that confuses your spell checker. This new-ish service, barely over a year old and only several months out of beta, has roared into existence and taken a spot in the top 10 social networks* in record time. The site had over 10 million unique visitors per week in December 2010 and has generated more referrals to third party sites than YouTube, LinkedIn and Google+ (all of which now pass the spell-test.)
Pinterest is a virtual pin-board. Users create “boards” that reflect their interests and pin pictures and thoughts of their own, or others throughout the web, on those boards to share with their friends. Pins can spread and go viral when people browse the boards of other Pinterest users and “re-pin” them on their own boards.
