Need More Info? Check This Out
For more than 17 years, one of the primary goals of Business Solutions magazine has been to give VARs actionable information to help them grow their businesses. We're aware, however, that a single article is rarely enough to give you all the information you need about a topic, and that's why we've created the MoreInfo icons that begin appearing in this issue. These icons are designed to put you in touch with additional, complementary editorial resources. For example, perhaps you're reading an article that mentions GPS-enabled handhelds, and you want more information about this technology. On the side margin of the article will be a MoreInfo icon that reminds you to check out a technology trend article in the same issue on the topic of GPS. One such example is Supply Chain and POS Editor Mike Monocello's feature story this month in which he profiles a VAR, Paragon Print Systems, which is finding success selling thermal printers to the law enforcement vertical market. On the margin of page 24 there is an icon pointing the reader to an April 2007 article, "Federal Government Contract Translates To Mobile Printing Sales," which was an installation review about selling thermal printing solutions to the law enforcement market. Readers who don't have past issues of the magazine can find it easily at www.bsminfo.com.
In addition to helping you more easily find articles with complementary topics, we're taking steps to increase awareness of exclusive content available at our Web site via our new MoreInfo box, located at the bottom of the "From The Editor" page. You may not have been aware, for example, that two white papers recently were added to the Business Solutions VoIP resource center. One white paper discusses the pitfalls of implementing IP telephony, and the other talks about wireless' role in VoIP. As you flip to the "From The Editor" page from now on, you'll see a highlight of what's happening at our Web site — recent trade show reports, new product announcements, executive opinion columns, white papers, and more. Just as with other changes we've made to Business Solutions over the years, readers' input is crucial. We covet your feedback about elements you like about the magazine as well as your ideas for making it better. The nature of the technologies and markets we cover is that of constant change — new products, new regulations, and new ways for VARs to meet their customers' business needs. To help you gain a more thorough knowledge of the topics that are most important to you, look for the MoreInfo icons.
