New Canon imageFORMULA DR-C130 Document Scanner Offers Easy-To-Use, Reliable Solution For Integrating Paper-Based Documents Into Digital Workflows

Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, recently announced the imageFORMULA DR-C130 document scanner, the latest device to complement Canon’s growing portfolio of office document scanners. Successor to the highly successful imageFORMULA DR-2010 document scanner, the new device can suit the needs of individuals and small workgroups, such as in the healthcare, insurance and financial industries, as well as educational institutions.

“Meeting the needs of our customers is paramount across our entire scanner line and the DR-C130 document scanner is a prime example, providing an advanced document capture solution,” said Sam Yoshida vice president, Marketing, Business Imaging Solutions, Canon U.S.A. “From its compact and durable design, to its outstanding flexibility, the DR-C130 offers customers an easy way to increase office efficiency and productivity.”

Key features of the imageFORMULA DR-C130 scanner include:

  • Easy-To-Use: Capable of single-pass duplex scanning, at up to 30 pages per minute (ppm)1, the DR-C130 scanner includes Full Auto mode, through which a single click adjusts multiple feature settings to easily deliver an optimal scanned image. The bundled Canon CaptureOnTouch software allows users to assign Scan-To-Job buttons to pre-configured scan tasks for quick and easy access. CaptureOnTouch can also route scanned images directly to cloud applications such as Evernote, Microsoft SharePoint, and Google Docs,2 and output images in multiple file formats including PDF/A and PPTX. The scanner is also bundled with ISIS/TWAIN drivers for easy integration with third-party software. And a convenient front panel enables easy access to scanner and power controls.
  • Reliable, Flexible Feeding: The DR-C130 scanner can handle a wide variety of document types, including thick documents, long or oversized documents, and wallet-sized plastic or embossed cards. The scanner also includes a Double-Feed Release function that allows users to conveniently handle special documents, such as envelopes. And features like Ultrasonic Double-Feed Detection help ensure no data is lost in the event that a double-feed occurs.
  • Compact Design: Taking up less than a foot of space, the DR-C130 scanner’s compact design allows users to maximize desk space. The adaptable eject tray allows users to scan and receive documents in one of three ways, with the eject tray closed, open or half open. Eliminating the added eject tray footprint can be extremely beneficial in areas of limited space.

The DR-C130 scanner meets ENERGY STAR guidelines for energy efficiency and complies with the ErP Lot 6 directive for energy consumption. It also complies with the EU RoHS and WEEE directives for reduction of hazardous substances and waste products, and is part of Canon’s Generation Green Program. In addition, Canon eCarePAK Extended Service Plans are available for investment protection beyond the initial one-year advanced exchange limited warranty period. This saves on costs associated with post-purchase maintenance and maximizes uptime throughout the product life.

The new imageFORMULA DR-C130 document scanner is available immediately through all authorized Canon resellers for a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $595. 3
