Nureva Announces The WhisperTek Surface For Its Span System

Durable high-pressure laminate offers low-profile projection surface for 10ʹ and 20ʹ interactive walls

Nureva Inc., an award-winning collaboration-solutions company, announces the WhisperTek surface, a high-performance bezel-less projection surface for the Nureva Span ideation system. The durable, lightly textured surface can withstand the high-use demands of interactive surfaces and regular wear and tear from pen and finger touches over time. The WhisperTek surface has been designed to enhance projector brightness and color, while eliminating the hotspots and glare that are common with other off-the-shelf projection surfaces.

The WhisperTek surface has an aspect ratio of 16:6, which matches the displayed image of the Span system WM210i model, measuring 10' (3.1 m) wide by 4' (1.2 m) high. Two WhisperTek surfaces can be applied side-by-side for the 20'-wide (6.1 m) WM220i model. The product weighs only 20 lb. (9 kg) and ships rolled up inside a compact container, overcoming the shipping and handling challenges associated with large whiteboard and hardboard projection surfaces. Two people can easily apply the surface to a wall and have it ready for use in under 30 minutes.

About The Span ideation system
Ideal for design, creative processes and business-process reengineering, the Span ideation system combines a panoramic projector with a 10' or 20' (3.1 m or 6.1 m) projection surface to display an expansive 40' by 4' (12.2 m by 1.2 m) digital canvas. Ideation participants create their ideas on their personal devices, either a computer or tablet, and share them on the team workspace in the cloud. The system draws upon familiar, simple and flexible tools already widely used in paper-based ideation including sticky notes, sketches, images and flip charts. The digital canvas retains all of the flexibility that paper-based systems offer (e.g., large workspaces with persistent information) while overcoming many of the deficiencies (e.g., the awkwardness of physically moving large numbers of sticky notes, sticky notes that fall off the wall, inclusion of remote participants in the process, the need for transcription, and storage and retention of the work). The Span ideation system allows multiple teams to use a collaboration room that previously may have been dedicated to a single team for months.
