Panasonic Showcases Retail Mobility And Payment Solutions At RetailNOW 2015

The Company Will Demonstrate Versatile Payment Technology and Omni-Channel Capabilities for Improved Customer Experience and Employee Productivity

Panasonic, a leading provider of retail technology solutions, will showcase its latest integrated technology solutions for retailers at RSPA’s RetailNOW 2015 expo in Orlando, FL (booth #1031). Panasonic’s end-to-end retail mobility and payment solutions are designed to connect the POS technology ecosystem by incorporating a wide variety of Panasonic hardware, including rugged handheld tablets, POS workstations, ruggedized communication systems and security solutions.

“Customers expect a tailored omni-channel experience and retailers are seeking solutions that can deliver that experience while mobilizing their workforce.” said Jo Satili – Retail Solutions Team, Panasonic System Communications Company of North America. “Panasonic’s latest solutions give retailers new ways of interacting with their customers, from making recommendations off past purchases and checking inventory for preferred items to closing the sale securely with EMV, all from the sales floor if desired.”

Rugged Tablet Solutions
With the EMV mandate fast approaching, requiring operators to implement chip-and-pin technology or face fraud liability, retailers of all sizes need a solution that can expedite their compliance. Panasonic developed the Toughpad FZ-R1 with that in mind, offering the first 7” all-in-one mobile POS tablet running Windows 8.1 for increased speed of service and improved customer experience with the ability to provide secure transaction capabilities, all from the sales floor.

Panasonic will also demonstrate a number of other rugged tablet solutions for front- and back-of-house operations including inventory checks and workforce management. Rugged tablets, such as the 10.1" Toughpad FZ-G1 enable managers to come out of the back office and onto the floor, increasing productivity and effectiveness.

Point-of-Sale Solutions
The company will also highlight its latest POS workstation, the Stingray III. This enterprise-grade POS device features an all-in-one flexible, modular design, and is compatible with a variety of Microsoft Windows operating systems. The Stingray III's versatile design features interchangeable touchscreens, allowing for easy customization to meet individual retailer requirements with unlimited mounting options. The increased modularity of the Stingray III also makes servicing and replacing parts a simpler process, reducing maintenance costs and total cost of ownership and increasing ROI.

POS Software Solution
Panasonic's System Manager Pro (SMP) Software Suite helps operators manage daily operations easily and more efficiently. It's a powerful software solution that bridges communications from front-of-house to any remote location for consolidated management of Panasonic purpose-built POS systems. SMP allows access to vital information on inventory planning, purchasing and storage, employee scheduling, labor cost, time and attendance regulation and POS operations – all from a single platform with versatile report generation capabilities.

Wireless Communication Solution
Designed to outlast every competitor on the market, Panasonic’s Attune II Wireless Communication System can withstand 1,100 lbs of direct pressure without failing and 300,000 twists and bends of its headband; it is also completely sealed against liquids and grease. Paired with the Attune II is a touch-screen, multimedia center module that integrates live security camera feeds so your drive-thru operators can see, as well as hear, your customers. Designed for maximum simplicity, the Attune II center module makes system management, recording greetings, even backing up — easier than ever.

Security and Management Solutions
Additionally, Panasonic will showcase its Virtual Site Manager, an integrated solution designed to provide remote store management from anywhere with the click of a mouse or tap on a tablet PC screen. Combining the power of video surveillance technology with point-of-sale systems, the solution pairs recorded video footage with transactional data, giving operators critical insight that can improve store operations, reduce loss and bring incremental revenue. In addition to preventing shrinkage, video analytics can provide invaluable data that can be used to streamline procedures, enhance marketing efforts and inform merchandising strategy. With just a few clicks, operators can verify and control inventory, view traffic volume and patterns and confirm employee training.
