pcAmerica Further Improves Client Confidence Through Expansion

New office space enables pcAmerica to provide higher level of customer service

pcAmerica, a leading developer of retail and restaurant point-of-sale software, announced they have moved to a new, 50 percent larger location that will better support its growing workforce, andprovide customerservice with almost 100 percent uptime.

As part of pcAmerica’s strategic move, that was two years in the making, they installed a robust new VoIP phone system. The IT-based phones enable pcAmerica employees to take the phones home with them  if severe weather is forecasted or other power-related problems arise. It not only allows them to make and receive calls as if they were in the office, but ultimately assures customers that their needs will be cared for if disaster strikes.

To reach near 100 percent uptime, all network servers are housed in a data center that is equipped withreduntant electric circuits and  backup generators. The new facility is also connected to the data center via a high-speed fiber optic line.

“In the past several years the East Coast has been hit with detrimental blizzards and hurricanes that left us without powerand hindered our ability to do business for long stretches of time,”said Richard F. Rotbard, President and Owner of pcAmerica.   “Our clients are our top priority andthis expansion will ultimately help us serve them at a more significant level.”

Other preventative measures include the installation of redundant internet and phone lines, so if one provider goes down, the system automatically kicks over to the back up.
