If I'm doing my job well, the magazine content in Business Solutions magazine should align with what our readers need in order to maintain and grow their book of business. This thinking has shaped our articles over the years (coverage of RFID [radio frequency identification], field service, and payment processing come to mind). It's that same thought process that recently put me on a plane to Dallas for the annual ASIS International physical security show. For the better half of 2010, we've been asked repeatedly by our subscribers to provide more information on whether or not there are opportunities in access control and video surveillance. After speaking with more than 20 different exhibitors at the show, I'm happy to report that not only is there a real opportunity for integrators in this space, but integrators are actually rapidly becoming the preferred sales channel for these solutions.
