Point Of Sale And Payment Processing News

Each month, Business Solutions reports news on business in the channel. This month in Point of Sale and Payment Processing news, North American Bancard launches a payment platform, and MMF announces new tablet enclosures. In addition, UP Solution introduces a solution for salons, spas, and other personal care businesses, and Lavu offers an online ordering application as well as a delivery and routing extension.

North American Bancard Launches Payment Platform

North American Bancard launched Velocity, a payment platform that will continuously provide normalized secure payment tools and workflows for software developers to continue building emerging technologies for their clients. The core of Velocity is a perpetual software license acquired by North American Bancard from Denver-based company IP Commerce.

Velocity provides a single integration access to a wide array of payment services including credit card, debit card, check, ACH, and gift/loyalty card processing. Technology partners can combine transaction services, value-added capabilities, and data services into vertical bundles. Velocity APIs simplify the delivery of multiservice offerings and enable developers to create intelligent multitouchpoint solutions.

MMF Adds New Tablet Enclosures

MMF POS, a supplier of cash drawers and accessories, now offers the FleX-7 and FleX1-10 Tablet Enclosures, new additions to the TABlock Series of ruggedized, secure, and lockable tablet solutions. The enclosures feature lightweight aluminum and steel construction and a base stand that allows 360-degree rotation for portrait or landscape orientation and optimized viewing angle. They include a built-in 3.5 mm audio port for most credit card readers, external speakers, or any application requiring the headphone jack. The design is radio transparent allowing for WI-FI, Bluetooth, and cellular service. They are available in black, red, and white, and custom colors and logo imprints are available upon request.

UP Solution Introduces UP TAB Salon

UP Solution, which provides tablet POS systems for smaller businesses, has introduced UP TAB Salon for salons, spas, and other personal care businesses. The solution provides a complete POS system, including an Android tablet loaded with salon- and spa-specific software, tablet stand, Bluetooth printer, and cash drawer. Features include remote and in-person management and oversight; scheduling appointments for specific employees assigned to a specific chair, table, or room; UP Cloud Web back office for management of offerings, sales, inventory, customers, and employees; and reporting capabilities.

Lavu Offers Delivery And Routing Extension, Online Ordering Application For Restaurant iPad POS

Lavu announced a new delivery and routing extension for its iPad POS. The iPad terminal displays delivery orders and allows staff to assign drivers to those orders. Drivers are provided with a map and directions to each delivery location via text message or printed receipt. The system approximates delivery times and selects the best path for the driver to take. The multiple-order routing feature groups two or more orders together, and Lavu maps out the most efficient route with turn-by-turn directions.

The company also announced new solutions for its online ordering application Lavu ToGo, including multiple payment options, real-time notifications, customizable online menus, and easy website embedding. Lavu ToGo is directly integrated with Lavu iPad POS and helps streamline the online ordering process. Customers ordering online can now pay with cash at the counter during pickup or — if the client has direct credit card integration — with a credit card while placing an order.
