This executive commentary by Shannon Andrade, director of training at Merchant Warehouse takes a look at preparing for the Certified Payments Professional (CPP) Exam which is quickly becoming a valued standard in the payments industry. The CPP was introduced in 2011 and Merchant Warehouse has made it an objective to extend the opportunity to earn CPP certification to as many eligible candidates as possible. The exam covers sales, pricing and interchange, operations, products and solutions, and compliance. Because of the large amount of information covered by the exam, Merchant Warehouse has created an 80 plus page easily adjusted manual to assist with training that is adaptable to current events in the industry.

Here is an excerpt from the article explaining the approach Merchant Warehouse took when dealing with the content of the exam:

“In regards to the content, our objective was to approach the subject matter as a high-level overview that would speak to a multitude of employees and cross all skill sets. We grouped employees from different departments within each training course. This encouraged collaboration among everyone and each candidate was able to provide their own insights and experiences to each topic.”
