6 Presentations You Missed At The Dallas Smart VAR Healthcare Summit

The Smart VAR Healthcare Summit, powered by ScanSource and Business Solutions magazine, August 11 at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel, featured outstanding educational presentations from some of the healthcare IT industry’s leading experts and vendors. The event included these sessions for solutions providers:

• Jim Roddy, president of Business Solutions magazine, and Ken Congdon, editor in chief of Health IT Outcomes magazine, had a Q&A session with the theme, “What Every VAR Needs To Know About The Healthcare Market.” Congdon explained how survey results from Health IT Outcomes’ Top 10 Health IT Trends In 2015 can help VARs understand the market.
   
• Shahid Shah, known as “The Healthcare IT Guy,” delivered a keynote address called, “Healthcare Opportunities For Smart SIs & Solution Providers.” The audio file of his presentation can be found here.
   
• Gina Wilde, a former respiratory therapist and hospital software implementation specialist who is now the healthcare manager in North America for Datalogic ADC, gave a presentation about specific applications and the landscape of healthcare. She outlined specific titles and hospital contacts VARs should call about bar code technology.
   
• Jeff Fountaine, GM of healthcare at Honeywell Scanning and Mobility, presented “From A Clinical Perspective: The Changing World Of Healthcare IT,” which included topics such challenges facing physicians and data on hospital market segmentation.
   
• Andy Tippet, the senior marketing manager for healthcare in the Americas at Zebra Technologies, presented “Bringing Visibility To Your Healthcare Operations,” which included information on healthcare IT decision makers and influencers and what it takes to be the optimal resellers in the healthcare space.
   
• Richard Jelesky, business development manager at ScanSource, gave solutions providers more information about the technology of 3D printing and scanning, one of the fastest growing markets in healthcare.
