3 PSA Pitfalls MSPs Should Avoid
One of the most important aspects of running a successful managed services practice is being as efficient as possible. To address this need, many solutions providers rely on professional services automation (PSA) software. Selecting a PSA tool is a significant decision, since the software can and should become the heart of an managed service provider’s (MSP’s) operation. If you’re a VAR just adopting managed services, or an established MSP looking for a new PSA, here are three common PSA pitfalls you should avoid:
Pitfall 1 — Not Fully Using The PSA. A sad reality is most MSPs go years only using a small portion of the capabilities of their PSA software. This is often due to the software being overly complex. MSPs shouldn’t be required to dedicate an employee just to manage their PSA. The software should be intuitive to use and require minimal clicking and screen jumping to perform routine tasks.
That said, even simple-to-use PSAs require a little training just so you fully understand the capabilities of the PSA. Not fully using your PSA means you’re missing out on functionality designed to turn your business into an efficient machine.
