TechNavio predicts that disaster recovery services will grow at a CAGR of 52.05 percent between 2015 and 2019.

Tech Research Firm TechNavio has released a new report that shows that the global Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) market is anticipated to show growth at a CAGR of 52.05 percent between 2015 and 2019. The report highlights the increasing number of end users who are adopting hybrid cloud DRaaS.

“Large organizations and SMEs are expected to embrace hybrid cloud disaster recovery during the forecast period,” Faisal Ghaus, VP of TechNavio, says in a release.

Cloud-based services are among the largest-growing technology segments. Hybrid cloud disaster recovery services can help businesses eliminate the need for a secondary disaster recovery site, thereby enhancing traditional disaster recovery solutions and delivering disaster recovery solutions for remote offices. Hybrid cloud DRaaS can also help reduce expenses, retain data on premises for fast local recovery and protect physical and virtual operating systems and applications.

An analyst from TechNavio’s team says in the press release that “increased adoption of hybrid cloud DRaaS is one of the key trends emerging in this market. With the increase in adoption of the hybrid cloud DRaaS, large enterprises and SMEs enjoy many benefits from the disaster recovery process.”

According to the report, the ability to economically protect all applications through cloud-based disaster recovery is one of the major drivers for the market. Cloud-based solutions allow companies to find alternative ways to cover all applications under a disaster recovery plan, thereby making them an economical as well as optimum choice.
Further, the report states, “one of the major challenges in the market is the lack of monitoring and complexity of deployment. Many business organizations lack appropriate systems to check backup data. Some organizations fail to recover from a disaster because of the lack of wholly covered disaster recovery plans.”
