Sage North America recently announced its support of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) at two of the organization’s events this week. NAWBO Day 2013, a regional conference put on by the Chicago Area Chapter of NAWBO to jumpstart Crain’s Chicago Small Business Week 2013, was held Monday, September 30, at Union League Club in Chicago, while the Women’s Business Conference, the national conference for NAWBO members, started today at the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami. For the last two years, Sage Payment Solutions, the payments division for Sage, has served as a NAWBO Affinity Partner.
With a theme of “THRIVE: Inspiration + Opportunity = Success,” NAWBO Day 2013 helped attendees gain new and effective tools to help their businesses thrive and took advantage of the opportunity to learn from industry experts at morning and afternoon educational seminars. Topics to achieve success in today's business culture were presented on leadership, health and wellness, marketing, diversity, procurement and performance management. Sage served as an event sponsor, and Sage Executive Vice President of Marketing Gabie Boko addressed attendees at the event’s breakfast session.
“There are more than 8 million women-owned businesses in the U.S. today ‑ generating over $1.3T in revenues ‑ and they’re thriving,” said Boko. “While it certainly takes inspiration and opportunity for businesses to thrive, it also takes a lot of tenacity, intelligence and vision, in addition to knowing your strengths, effectively balancing multiple demands on your time and seeking the right prospects and partners. Sage wants to support women-owned businesses where they are today, and where they want to be tomorrow, and is proud to be a NAWBO partner.”
With a theme of “The World Awaits,” the NAWBO Women’s Business Conference is the only event of its kind focused on connecting women entrepreneurs to real business opportunities that deliver bottom-line results. This national NAWBO event brings together businesses of all sizes from various industries to provide women entrepreneurs with personal and professional tools and resources to take their business to the next level of success. Sage Payment Solutions is a contributing sponsor at this conference, offering integrated business solutions at discounted member rates.
Founded in 1975, NAWBO propels women entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power worldwide by: strengthening the wealth-creating capacity of our members and promoting economic development within the entrepreneurial community; creating innovative and effective change in the business culture; building strategic alliances, coalitions and affiliations; and transforming public policy and influencing opinion makers.
