Samsung has introduced a new series of network speed dome cameras which are collectively designed to provide a solution for airports, ports, car parks, industrial estates and retail parks, as well as a wide range of other environments where high performance PTZ functionality is required.

All four new ONVIF compliant models, which incorporate Samsung's highly acclaimed SV-5 DSP chipset, are able to capture 4CIF resolution images at 25 frames per second and feature Progressive Scan to optimise the high quality video capture of moving objects, making it possible to read car number plates, for example, without a motion blur effect.

The SNP-3371 is equipped with a powerful 37x optical zoom as is its weatherproof counterpart the SNP-3371TH, which has an object Auto-Tracking feature and is supplied in an integrated housing for easy installation. The SNP-3302 has a 30x zoom capability and the housed version, the SNP-3302H, is IP66 rated.

"These new speed dome cameras offer a number of significant additional features compared to previous models including Power over Ethernet (PoE+ and hPoE) which can power a device without the need for a local power supply and thereby reduce installation time and costs," said Tim Biddulph, IP Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. "They also utilise H.264 compression to minimise bandwidth requirements with the option of using MPEG-4 or MJPEG compression. This means that customers have the flexibility to choose to simultaneously transmit up to ten different streams of images to multiple locations at various frame rates, including real time, at different resolutions."

All four models incorporate true Day/Night cameras with an infra-cut filter work and, with the benefit of a high end 600 TVL CCD, work extremely well in low light applications, The cameras are equipped with Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology which compensates for backlight problems 160 times more effectively than standard BLC. They also feature an Intelligent Video Analytics (IVA) capability that includes an Appear/Disappear function which can detect the movement of objects, as well as optical tripwire and enter/exit direction detection.

As well as those features Samsung users have come to expect, such as third generation Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNRIII), polygonal privacy masking, multi-language on-screen display (OSD) and Bi-directional audio support.

All of the models can be controlled by video management software developed by leading third party developers such as Exacq, Griffid, Ipronet, Milestone and Mirasys.

An extensive full range of accessories and brackets provide the option of wall, pole, parapet, pendant, corner and in-ceiling mounts.

Available from all Samsung distributors, the new speed domes are offered with full support services from Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd, including free system design, free technical support and a full three-year warranty.

Smarter Security
Samsung manufactures video surveillance and access control products designed to meet the current and future needs of security professionals. The products utilise innovative technologies, many of which are unique to Samsung, which can deliver tangible benefits and outstanding value to those involved in combating criminal activity, whilst offering time and cost saving advantages to installers and system integrators.

Samsung's philosophy of delivering Smarter Security is reflected in a product portfolio which provides customers with the flexibility to choose the best solution for the job in hand. This choice includes a comprehensive and competitively priced range of analogue cameras, DVRs and monitors, a complete end-to-end IP solutions range, licence-free viewing and recording software, and an impressive line-up of high definition megapixel cameras which incorporate Samsung Techwin WiseNet DSP chipsets to allow the multi-streaming of video whilst putting the user firmly in control of bandwidth management. ‘Hybrid' options include encoders which provide a cost effective and easy to implement method of adding analogue cameras to an IP/network based video surveillance system, and HD-SDI cameras which allow the transmission of uncompressed and non-packetized Full HD (1080P) video over analogue cabling.

Samsung's biometric, proximity and smart card & PIN based access control systems can be fully integrated with Samsung's SRD digital video recorder range. This allows users to achieve maximum advantage from their investment in a security system by ensuring that access control events and alarms can be reliably synchronised with relevant video.

Offering ‘Best of Class' products and solutions is only part of the process of delivering Smarter Security. Every one of Samsung's products, many of which have been highly rated in independent product tests, is backed-up by unbeatable pre and post sales support. Training is at the heart of a range of support services which also includes free system design, free technical support and a full three-year warranty. Samsung offers IP network solutions training courses for installers and system integrators and on its stand at exhibitions, such as IFSEC, will have hands-on workshop areas to give sales professionals and technicians the confidence to recommend, design and install an integrated IP network based access control and video surveillance system.

Samsung's professional security products are widely accessible across Europe via an extensive network of distributors. For more information, visit www.samsungsecurity.com.
