ScanSource Certified As Encryption Services Organization

GREENVILLE, SC – ScanSource®, Inc. {NASDAQ: SCSC}, the leading international value-added distributor of specialty technology products, has announced that it has become an Encryption Services Organization as a part of its ScanSource Payment Solutions Suite offering, which delivers merchant services and key injection to its reseller partners. 

Through this ESO designation, ScanSource can provide the full key injection process on-site in its secure facility in Southaven, MS, including loading software and encryption keys onto terminals and devices, as well as providing technical support and programming assistance.  In the past, when resellers purchased payment terminals, they would have to send the terminal to the manufacturer or another third-party for injection.  By offering this service, ScanSource is able to take costs and time out of the process, enabling the reseller to add an enhanced level of service and efficiency to the end-user customer.

In addition, ScanSource’s ESO certification allows the utilization of remote key loading services from vendors, such as Mag-Tek (using their Magensa network) and Verifone.  These services make a wide variety of PIN debit keys available on a real-time basis to ScanSource reseller partners, reducing both the time and costs of payment solution deployment.
