Datasheet: PacketSure 7.6

The cornerstone of the Palisade Data Loss Prevention (DLP) suite is the Packet-Sure™ DLP solution. PacketSure™ DLP prevents sensitive and confidential information from leaving data networks, providing an easy-to-install and easy-to-use solution for ensuring regulatory compliance. Leveraging configuration wizards and flexible reporting templates, network security staff can quickly secure their network against the loss of proprietary, financial, healthcare related, or other sensitive data.

The PacketSure™ DLP solution works in tandem with the Palisade Data at Rest (DAR) Discovery Agent, which analyzes and identifies data residing on hard drives on user workstations, servers, or network-attached storage. The platform also can be scaled to larger network deployments by leveraging the Palisade Centralized Management System (CMS), which allows for a single management point for geographically dispersed deployments.

The PacketSure™ DLP 7.6 solution analyzes Data in Motion in real-time, across all network protocols, including:

  • Email (SMTP)
  • Web Traffic, including applications such as mail, wikis and blogs (HTTP/HTTPS)
  • Instant Messaging
  • File Transfers (FTP)

Features and Benefits

The Palisade™ DLP Product Suite offers the following important features and benefits:
  • Pre-Built DLP Policies - PacketSure™ DLP provides pre-built DLP policies for social security numbers, credit card numbers, Patient Health Information (PHI) in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Personal Financial Information (PFI) in compliance with the Gramm-Leach- Bliley Act, and profanity.
  • Unique Layered Approach – PacketSure™ DLP optimizes performance through a unique three layered filtering approach. First, protocol filtering is used to identify traffic via signatures and block the usage of unwanted applications and protocols with TCP/IP reset packets. Second, web filtering is applied to prevent the access of specific categories or websites. Finally, content analysis is applied on the remaining traffic for confidential data.
  • Interoperability with Cisco IronPort S-Series Web Security Appliance™ - PacketSure™ DLP and the IronPort S-Series Web Security appliance (WSA)™ interoperate to analyze and control web traffic for transmissions of confidential data. Using the External DLP feature of the IronPort WSA, you can forward all or specific HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP traffic to the PacketSure™ DLP. Based on policy, the PacketSure™ DLP appliance informs the IronPort WSA to allow or block the data.
