Smarsh Continues Its Trajectory As Leading Comprehensive Archive Platform For Compliance And E-Discovery

Fourth Quarter Revenue up over 30% Year-over-Year

Smarsh, the leading provider of hosted archiving solutions for compliance and e-discovery, recently announced its 2015 fourth-quarter revenue grew 33% percent over the same time period a year ago. Key factors fueling this growth were the company’s continued business expansion and innovation within The Archiving Platform, including new offerings and services that deliver increased value for customers and partners.

“The inefficient legacy archiving systems and manual processes that organizations use to meet regulatory compliance obligations for electronic communications don’t scale as text messaging, social media, web and other new mediums create an avalanche of content that requires archival and review,” said Stephen Marsh, CEO at Smarsh. “We’ve been able to disrupt these traditional processes with The Archiving Platform, as our technology enables firms to identify real risk efficiently across an industry leading range of content. In 2016, we’ll continue to help firms enable more comprehensive supervision across an even broader set of content, especially newer content types where risky communications tend to hide. We’ll do this with faster, more efficient technology that further reduces the time and effort required to review content.”

The Smarsh installed base represents a roster of clients in regulated industries including broker-dealers, investment advisors, lenders, the public sector, and more. Organizations turn to Smarsh to help them meet requirements for the retention, supervision, and discovery of electronic communications.

Enhanced Offerings

This year Smarsh introduced the next generation of The Archiving Platform, with more features across all archived content, new levels of performance, easier self-service and standardized core platform packages. These features allow customers to meet their specific business needs with the right platform package, and then selectively use Supervision, Discovery or Personal Archive add-on modules to enhance the core features of the platform.

The company also released a new version of its cloud-based Web Archiving solution, which features an enhanced supervision workflow which helps companies easily monitor and track changes in content, and document reviews of archived web pages.

New Services

Smarsh introduced new professional services offerings to help customers realize the full power of The Archiving Platform, and increase the speed and effectiveness of recurring electronic communications supervision. In addition, Smarsh launched the Smarsh Developers program, which provides application programming interface (API) access to select partners who can directly ingest their content into The Archiving Platform, enabling them to cost effectively meet their customers’ needs in regulated or litigious industries with a leading supervision and e-discovery solution.

Support for More Content Types

Smarsh recently introduced support for several new content types, which are captured, retained in a search-ready state, and made available for production and review in The Archiving Platform. The companyteamed up with Hootsuite to help its customers facilitate the archiving, supervision, discovery, and production of published social media content. Smarsh also announced integration with Citrix ShareFile as well as Slack, and enhanced support for Vimeo, Microsoft Office 365, LinkedIn, Cisco Jabber Instant Messaging, and QQ.
