SMBs Are Getting Their Feet Wet With Hybrid Cloud Storage Solutions

I am likely preaching to the choir when I say, introducing small-to-medium sized business clients (SMB) to a new, highly innovative, many times expensive technology solution is no easy feat. Actually, the introduction isn’t really the hard part — getting that PO signed-off is where it becomes tricky. And, while it seems like cloud technology has been touted for some time now, the SMB crowd is still lagging a bit behind when it comes to deploying such a solution to support business critical data. Hybrid cloud solutions however may offer the ideal solution to help your less than “fast follower” clients to get their feet wet — particularly in terms of data storage.
By definition, hybrid clouds combine aspects of private and public clouds in order to create a more flexible (in terms of both management and cost), reliable, and secure environment. Moreover, enhanced data services can be layered more easily and cost effectively in the cloud — such as failover, replication, and disaster recovery (DR).
As you work with your clients to review the various hybrid cloud storage solutions’ features/functionality, you should help your clients to keep in mind that it really all needs to boil down to three primary benefits: business flexibility, data security, and cost savings. Is the “Why?” obvious? Just in case, I will explain.
