Special Report: Mobile POS And The IT Channel

Everyone loves talking about mobile POS, but who’s actually deploying it and making money?

In a late 2014 survey of its retail readers, our sister publication, Integrated Solutions for Retailers magazine, found that when it came to IT investment priorities, just over 50 percent of retailers indicated that they’d be investing in mobile POS hardware in 2015. At about the same time, Business Solutions polled its VAR and ISV readers about the most important topics facing their businesses today. Mobile POS was ranked number 4.

Today, according to the latest statistics from the IHL Group, the North American market size for mobile POS is $626.1 billion, and mobile POS is approximately 12 percent of all mobile technologies used in North American retail. Clearly, mobile POS is all the rage. At least, that’s what most people are saying.
