Stadiums Implement New, Innovative Payment Solution

Bridge Business Intelligence Provides Fast Transactions and Detailed Online Reporting

TAMPA, FL – Sterling Payment Technologies announced today that its new payment solution, Bridge Business Intelligence™, has been installed in the stadiums of two locally popular Minor League Baseball teams, the Brazos Valley (Texas) Bombers and the Evansville (Indiana) Otters.

Bridge Business Intelligence, combined with a SAM4s electronic cash register, provides an all-in-one payment solution that allows stadium owners and managers to:

  • Sell anywhere with a wireless modem
  • Accept all payment types
  • Sell more in less time with two-second card transactions
  • Access real-time sales data online
  • Change pricing and PLUs remotely on one or multiple ECRs

“Bridge is a perfect payment solution for hard-to-wire environments like concession stands in stadiums, or outdoor locations like tents, kiosks or carts,” said Sterling’s Chief Sales and Marketing Executive Gary Staub.  “

Uri Geva, CEO and owner of the Brazos Valley Bombers, purchased 13 ECRs with Bridge Business Intelligence for his stadium in Bryan, Texas.  After only eight home games into the season, his profits from concessions and merchandise had increased 30 percent compared to the year before, and Bridge’s fast transaction speed has resulted in 37 percent more customers being served.

With Bridge, Geva receives real-time sales updates on his cell phone, so by the third inning he has a good idea of how much food and merchandise has been sold. “At that point, if we haven’t sold any pizza, candy or hot dogs, I can reduce the price on the fly of items we can’t sell the next day,” he said.  “This lets me be a smarter business operator and make sure revenue goals are met at the end of the day.”

The Evansville Otters baseball team plays at Bosse Field, where the movie “League of Their Own” was filmed.  The team’s general manager, Joel Padfield, saw a demo of Bridge Business Intelligence at a baseball show last year and purchased 26 ECRs with Bridge to use throughout his stadium.

“I accepted credit cards before Bridge, but the slowness and unreliability of the previous ‘wireless’ system was killing our sales,” Padfield said. “With Bridge’s transaction speed and reliable wireless connection, fans get through lines much faster. And our employees like Bridge because it’s easy to use.  This is a fantastic product and I highly recommend it.”

Padfield purchased his system from Cash Register Sales & Service in Evansville, Indiana.  David Smith helped install the hardware.  “Installation went smoothly,” he said.  “Sterling was on-site during until installation was completed and stayed to train stadium employees.”

“Sterling’s goal is to develop and bring products to the market that help businesses be more profitable and efficient," Staub said.  "We’re pleased that Uri and Joel are getting higher profits and greater efficiency at their stadiums with Bridge.”
