At RetailNOW 2011, Star Micronics showcased its TSP100ECO printer, promoted by the company as the world's first ECO POS printer. Among the printer's features are: a 75% reduction in power consumption compared to standard Star printers, up to 70% reduction of paper consumption, new halogen-free printer housing, and new recyclable packaging. In other Star news from RetailNOW, Senior Sales Director Christine Duffy was elected to the RSPA Board of Directors.
