Sterling Payment Technologies Offers New Cost-Saving Integrated Payment Solution For Merchants

Casio electronic cash registers with PAX SP30 payment terminal simplify card processing

Sterling Payment Technologies announced recently it is certified to offer two Casio electronic cash registers (ECRs) in conjunction with the PAX SP30 payment terminal to give merchants a proven and powerful integrated payment solution that eliminates the need for a standbesidecredit card terminal to process card payment transactions.

The Casio/PAX combination is an ideal payment platform for restaurant and retail merchants because it allows them to accept and process credit, debit, EBT and gift card transactions via either dial-up or IP communication using a customer activated payment terminal integrated with their Casio register.

The two Casio models, TE-1500 and TK-1550 are mid-range ECRs featuring a three-line emerald LCD display; metal cash drawer; high-speed receipt and journal thermal printers; 30- and 72-key keyboards, respectively; and support for up to 2,000 PLUs.

"Casio continues to strengthen its offerings for retailers and is dedicated to meeting the changing needs of the marketplace," said Larry Sampey, general manager of Casio's System Products Division. "The certification from Sterling validates our commitment to providing efficient and affordable technology for retailers."

PAX's SP30 adds payment terminal functionality to a PIN pad. It is a leader in the market for secure PIN pads, fully complying with PCI and PIN Transaction Security (PTS) regulations. The SP30 comes with a magnetic card reader – adding a contactless IC card reader is optional – and is Europay, Mastercard and Visa (EMV)-certified. A large 128x64 pixel LCD display enables fast and user-friendly payment options.

"PAX continually looks to add security to payment solutions while keeping the solution uncomplicated for merchants," said Andy Chau, president and CEO of PAX Technology, Inc. "By integrating the PAX SP30 with the Casio's electronic cash register systems, we are able to offer merchants a straightforward and easy-to-implement solution that includes the high security, PCI-compliant and affordable solution that PAX is known for."

"At Sterling Payment Technologies, we are committed to providing the best payment products to our merchants by partnering with market leading solution providers and combine that with the best service and support in the industry," said Brian Beacom, Director of New Product Development at Sterling. "This new offering is a great addition to our product portfolio, and continues to set Sterling apart from the competition."
