Three New RSIs Single Out Syncsort’s Offload and Transformation Capabilities to Hadoop, On-Premise and in the Cloud as Key to Partnership

Syncsort, a global leader in Big Data integration solutions, recently announced that three of their growing number of new regional systems integrators (RSIs) are partnering with Syncsort to offload data and workloads from legacy systems like mainframes, relational databases and enterprise data warehouses (EDWs) into Hadoop, on premise and in the Cloud.

Since announcing the expansion of its RSI program last July, a number of new partners have joined because Syncsort’s Ironcluster, DMX-h, DMX and ETLs help in a variety of data offload and transformation use cases, helping clients gain a competitive advantage by mining Big Data for critical business intelligence.

“We are seeing strong interest from RSIs in partnering with us to deliver a complete solution to their clients data offload needs,” said Josh Rogers, President, Syncsort. “Our partners are delivering the clear message to us that our ability to help them address data and data workload offloading and transformation across mainframe and legacy systems to Hadoop and the Cloud meets key customer requirements.”

New RSIs describe customer use cases that made Syncsort an ideal partner:

Behfar Jahanshahi, CEO, InterWorks
Our clients need to bring disparate information sources together for Big Data analysis, and many of them are looking to leverage Hadoop. Part of our offering is to provide them with a full spectrum of capabilities to get data from where it resides and move it into Hadoop to perform the analytics that can provide critical business insights. Syncsort helps us accomplish this much more easily, providing the capability to simply and efficiently offload data and data workloads from the mainframe and enterprise data warehouses into Hadoop.

In addition to the key tools they offer, Syncsort is also well-aligned with us because they have technology partnerships with two of our key partners, Cloudera and Tableau. Considering the market, the capabilities with Syncsort and Tableau are particularly exciting as Tableau is the global leader in rapid data visualization and business analytics. Syncsort has already built a highly differentiated Tableau integration into their solution. Similarly, InterWorks (named as a 2013 Tableau Partner of the Year) has a full team of data enthusiasts to support Tableau services. Adding Syncsort to our toolkit of custom data solutions is ideal for our clients' success.

Fernando Mesa, CTO and Co-founder, Clarte, Big Data Division of R-square
We specialize in Big Data and Business Intelligence Analytics, helping healthcare, pharmaceutical and financial services companies connect data silos and information assets with the purpose of gaining a better understanding of their business. Our clients are looking for a much simpler, streamlined and high performance access to data that needs to go into Hadoop, where they can connect the dots in these "data lakes" using our semantic and graph technology. Together with Syncsort, we use Hadoop as an Enterprise Data Hub for distribution, analysis and delivery to online systems.

A very appealing part of what Syncsort has to offer is their tools to offload legacy systems and high performance ETL capabilities. We combine these two solutions with Syncsort's Ironcluster for elasticity. As data increases, the combination of on-premise ETL capabilities and Amazon EMR offers us an efficient and cost-effective way to manage that information. To us, offloading our data to Hadoop offers the best of both worlds, as long as you can provide the data quality and make the process simple for DBAs. If you can do that, it’s a massive win, and that’s what Syncsort does.

Chris Jordan, President, iOLAP, Inc.
iOLAP chose Syncsort as its ETL partner for several reasons. First, we considered its performance as a proven, enterprise-scale ETL tool. We are a professional services organization and many of our senior consultants have substantial experience with Syncsort and it was their product of choice in many situations.

In addition, given our rapid growth and our clients’ needs in a Big Data environment, the Syncsort DMX-h system for data integration into Hadoop is very important. We are seeing a lot of customer interest in offloading inefficient mainframe and EDW data and data workloads to Hadoop. The approach and architecture used by Syncsort for getting data in and out of Hadoop, supporting ETL processes and working with MapReduce jobs is exactly what our clients need.
