TCN Platform Assists Training At Junior Blind Of America Call Center Training

By Ally Kutz, contributing writer

Platform 3 VocalVision developed by TCN is helping to improve training at the Junior Blind of America’s Los Angeles campus’ Contact Center Training. The technology is helping students to gain contact center skills in order to secure and ensure employment.

The partnership between TCN Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based call center technology, and Junior Blind of America, a non-profit dedicated to helping the blind reach their greatest potential, formed their partnership in July 2014 in order to assist students and adults in securing employment via technological assistance in call center technology.

Junior Blind of America’s Contact Center Training is designed to help students with skills needed for employment while also staying competitive in the contact center industry. The new service, Platform 3 VocalVision, is optimized to work with the screen reader Job Access With Speech (JAWS), enabling visually impaired students to navigate the cloud-based contact center suite. Through this curriculum, students receive hands-on experience and skills needed for employment with contact centers.

According to the National Federation of the Blind, almost 60 percent of blind or visually impaired adults were unemployed in 2013, with the number possibly being higher, as it does not include those who have given up on career searching altogether. Junior Blind America’s Lost Angeles program’s partnership with TCN has helped to strengthen and diversify the career training program, with more than 80 students graduating with success form the program since the launch of the partnership.

The new TCN platform is a cost-effective, cloud-based suite, improving connectivity between agents and customers while also increasing efficiency without the need for added staff. Industry-leading features that it provides include predictive dialer, interactive voice recording (IVR), call recording, and business analytics.
