The Best Approach To BYOD Security
By Madhankumar V, Product Marketing, Vembu Technologies
BYOD (Bring your own device) is a growing trend in the workplace environment that allows employees to use their own computers, tablets, or smartphones. Privileged access to applications and as well as company information is then given to those devices.
IT solutions providers need to change their strategies to support employees that are allowed to use their own devices for work purposes. This kind of activity helps the organization to:
- empower employees to work from outside the office
- cut the costs of purchasing new devices for each employee
- reduce the cost of software license fees
- reduce training time for device usage
- store critical data on a cloud service for easy access
BYOD is becoming well established because this strategy allows employees to utilize their own resources occasionally or entirely. As many organizations intend to use their corporate-owned devices, some employees prefer using their own devices because they are more familiar with them and don’t have to manage separate devices.
