The Growing Need For VAR Partnerships
Bobby McLain, VP of Marketing for ScanSource, talks with Jameson Publishing and Business Solutions magazine President Jim Roddy in this exclusive Executive-To-Executive interview. In this interview, McLain details a new ScanSource initiative (called "SUMO") designed to facilitate reseller partnerships and talks about the future for VARs who don't embrace the partnership concept.
"Social media is booming right now," McLain says. "A lot of companies are creating social media platforms to share and communicate and dialogue together, and of course we're on that front as well with our new communities. ... There are a lot of different ways certainly to continue to partner, and we feel like SUMO is going to be a great complement to that ability to create partnerships. ... We see SUMO as a way to stay at home and search on your keyboard for partners."
