Payment solution works with NFC products like Apple Pay, Google Wallet and Softcard Terminals also EMV-enabled for 2015 changeover

With this transition to Ingenico, the global leader in seamless payment, Total clients will be able to accept contactless payment with the same NFC technology used by Apple Pay, Google Wallet and Softcard. Additionally, the Ingenico terminals are EMV capable – delivering the latest in fraud prevention technology.

EMV is the global standard for credit and debit cards. It uses an embedded microprocessor instead of the traditional magnetic stripe to help reduce instances of fraud. Effective October 2015, all U.S. merchants will have a liability shift for chargeback protection if they are not using EMV enabled devices. NFC technology is the system for the contactless payment available on the Apple phones and watches as well as Google Wallet and Softcard.
