UserGate Proxy & Firewall 6.4 With A New IDPS Module

Entensys has announced the release of UserGate Proxy & Firewall 6.4. An IDPS (Intrusion Detection and Prevention System) has been added to the new version.

UserGate Proxy & Firewall is a UTM (Unified Threat Management) class web gateway that allows you to facilitate and monitor general employee access to online resources, filter harmful, dangerous, and undesired websites, protect your company network against intrusions and attacks, create virtual networks and organize secure external VPN access to network resources, and control bandwidth and online applications.

UserGate Proxy & Firewall has a built-in internet-filtering system called Entensys URL Filtering 3.0 featuring an expanded website base, an increased number of categories, and enhanced performance. This module makes it possible to block any visits by compromised hosts, including those in botnets. This allows the program to prevent the negative consequences that can arise from the presence of trojans or zombie computers in the corporate network.

UserGate Proxy & Firewall 6.4 has been specially adapted to run with Windows Server 2012, but it also runs successfully on previous versions of Windows for servers and workstations. Server performance and stability has also been improved, minor changes have been made to the control panel, web statistics now run better, and the issue with authorizing users on terminal servers has been fixed.
