Lesley English, CFO and VP of operations at VAR OCR Canada, and Mike Stryczek, CEO at reseller American Barcode and RFID, were the featured panelists during a May 16 presentation at Ingram Micro’s Solutions Partner Invitational at the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina. Jim Roddy, president of Jameson Publishing and Business Solutions magazine, served as the moderator for the panel.
In this excerpt from the panel discussion, English and Stryczek discuss how they expanded their businesses through selling new products and services to current customers and by reaching beyond their current markets into new verticals.
“A customer in your database is a nugget of gold,” English says. “Keeping a happy customer and expanding new services to them is the easiest way to grow business. … We’ve dramatically expanded our hosted services, professional services group, to help our customers with things like spare tool management and remote device hosting of services so that they can download reports, understand where their devices are, and help their management team manage the devices easier.”
