The Varnex 2013 fall conference will be held Nov. 17-20 in San Diego. Varnex, a peer-to-peer community of SYNNEX SMB resellers, has been meeting at conferences since 2008 for networking and education. This event is expected to have an attendance of about 575.

The agenda, designed to address channel trends and best practices, includes demonstrations and informational sessions on topics such as digital signage, integrated communications, and selling Software-as-a-Service. New this year, finance companies will be available at the conference to help Varnex members learn about their options for financing and leasing.

Business workshop topics include sales rep training, targeting new accounts, sales compensation strategies, and vying for federal contracts. The agenda also includes addresses by SYNNEX representatives, vendor solutions sessions, and “manufacturer boardroom” sessions.

On Tuesday, November 19, Billy Beane, general manager of the Oakland A’s will give the keynote. Beane is the subject of the movie Moneyball — based on Michael Lewis’ book Moneyball: The Art of Winning An Unfair Game. Tuesday concludes with the Fourth Annual Varnex Signature Awards banquet for the presentation of partner awards. The evening also features entertainment by Eddie Money.

In addition to semi-annual conferences, Varnex provides a variety of other opportunities to help its members grow their businesses. Varnex University began in 2013 with two weeklong sales trainings sessions — and plans four additional sessions in 2014. The community also has begun regional events with SYNNEX representatives and vendor partners to provide additional opportunities for networking and collaboration.
