A staggering revelation for SMBs is the fact that they are the target of 81 percent of all data breaches. This primarily due to SMBs’ lack of more robust security measures, according to an infographic released by My Digital Shield.
More Facts About Data Breaches
Another stat cited in the infographic revealed that one in five SMBs is the target of cybercrime each year. This includes attacks from outside the company and misuse by employees. Damages from such attacks include various data recovery fees, lost revenue, and regulatory fines, among others, leading to the average cost of a single cyber attack being in the area of $300,000.
