What Careless Password Habits Can Cost Your SMB IT Clients

LogMeIn recently released via its product Meldium’s blog an infograph detailing security issues surrounding passwords, titled “Why Your Password Is The Next To Get Nabbed.”

According to the report, the average number of personal and business apps each person uses is 545, but each user has an average of only 10 unique passwords — on average, the same password is being used for more than 50 applications.

The cloud is also becoming a huge factor in password maintenance, with 85 percent of all new software development cloud-based. According to the report, roughly 48 million apps will be cloud-based by 2016, and 30 percent of workloads will be dealt with in the cloud by 2018.

LogMeIn’s research also reveals users struggle to remember passwords — 37 percent of users have to request a password reset at least once per month.
