What MSPs Can Learn From Chick-fil-A
By The Business Solutions Network
I love coming across quick, easy-to-follow advice for solutions providers. During a short presentation at the recently-held GFI MAX Customer Conference in Orlando, Tony Hayden, president of Sabre Networks, shared his thoughts on why an MSP should adopt many of the practices of restaurant chain Chick-fil-A. He believes the result would be a highly successful business. Here's what the restaurant does that can be applied to your business.
- Offer the highest customer service. Chick-fil-A employees exude an attitude of servitude. They want to help you.
- Offer the highest quality. For the restaurant, that means high-quality chicken. For you, it’s best of breed.
- Never compromise or compete on price. Accept that you aren’t the cheapest and stick to it.
- Know that your managed services aren’t for everyone. Not every customer is right for you. Accept it and feel empowered to walk away from those who don’t fit.
- Stick with your principles in getting, keeping, and losing clients. Hayden lamented that in his entire career, every time he deviated from core principles with a client, he regretted it.
