What Verizon's Study Can Teach MSPs About The Cloud

Verizon’s recent study, “State of the Market: Enterprise Cloud 2014” confirms what many already knew — the cloud has become a valuable part of the enterprise. Yet, you might be surprised to what extent.

According to the study, 65 percent of enterprises are currently using cloud computing today. That makes sense, considering the explosion of cloud-based applications that have hit the market and become popular in the last few years. However, cloud adoption is more than just simply using apps like Dropbox. According to the study, enterprises aren’t just using the cloud, they’re placing mission-critical pieces of their business into the cloud. For example, 72 percent of enterprises surveyed expect to put more than half of their workloads into the cloud within the next two years. This fact shows a growing adoption of cloud computing within the enterprise — a customer segment that is traditionally slower than SMBs to adopt “emerging technologies.”
