Why Mobile POS Is A Great Fit For Hospitality

Productivity gains and delivering a superior customer experience continue to be key drivers of technology investments in the hospitality industry. According to the recently released National Restaurant Association report “Restaurant Industry 2020: A Snapshot of the Future,” industry competition will continue to intensify in the years ahead and operators will have to focus upon offering elevated levels of food and service in tandem with technological enhancements. The National Restaurant Association report also states “nearly four in ten consumers say they will likely use an electronic ordering system and menus on tablet computers.” In the discussion below, I will outline several reasons why mPOS (mobile point of sale) is a great fit for hospitality and how it can drive success for hospitality resellers.

Mobility is transforming the way restaurants interact with customers and operate their businesses. Most mPOS systems consist of a tablet loaded with application software, a cash drawer, and a thermal receipt printer. They are surprisingly easy to install and use, making them very appealing to smaller restaurants who may have been hesitant to replace an existing electronic cash register for everyday transactions.
