Guest Column: The Forecast Is Cloudy: Making SaaS Solutions Work For VARs
Cloud computing, including Software as a Service (SaaS), is here to stay and continues to become a larger piece of the IT budgets of small businesses, as well as global organizations. Right now, 21% of companies are piloting SaaS applications, according to recent Forrester research. Gartner expect SaaS in the enterprise application markets to nearly double from 2008 to 2012 and estimates that there will be a 17% increase in SaaS revenue from 2009 into 2010, approaching nearly $8.8 billion. All in all, that's not bad in a tough economic year. In fact, Gartner predicts growth of a similar fashion for the next four years; with the market eventually reach $14.4 billion.
