    Each spring, I look forward to the Autotask Community Live event. Maybe it’s because, three years ago, it was my first event as a new editor, and I was greeted with gracious hospitality. Maybe it’s because it is early in the travel season. Or, maybe it’s because the event, while more than 700 MSPs strong, still feels cozy and comfortable, like hanging out with old friends.

    It had been a long three days, that was clear as I walked with Autotask CEO Bob Godgart through the remnants of the crowd that had just listened to the closing Q&A session on the last day of CommunITy Live in Miami. As Godgart paused to shake hands and thank people for attending, the overall message he heard back was thanks, this has been a great experience.
  5. Cloud Platform Unveiled At CommunITy Live

    After several months delay, Zenith Infotech has started the rollout of its new cloud computing platform, which allows MSPs to offer a cloud solution, privately branded, to customers interested in the efficiencies of cloud-based technology. The solution allows for virtualization of servers and desktops, the enabling of thin clients, and integrated backup and disaster recovery, one of Zenith’s core competencies.

    Day Two at Autotask CommunITy Live kicked off with a lively panel discussion featuring four very different MSPs: Jacob Braun, COO of WAKA Digital; Greg Donovan, CEO of Alpheon Corp.; Tim Smiley, VP of Operations at Tushaus Computer Services; and Craig Tribuno, CFO and VP at Systems Engineering.

    With a new release slated for May 2010, Autotask unveiled some of the features coming in the next few weeks. Included in those are allocation codes that are now work type codes that help further automate billing, new security levels set by user access policy, VARstreet integration, opportunity searches, copy and paste quotes, and web services.
