  2. Epson Mobilink P60II: 2-Inch Mobile Receipt Printers Product Review

    Nelson found the units relatively easy to set up. Like all the printers tested, the Epson Mobilink P60II requires software to be installed on a PC and then for the printer to be connected to that PC via a standard mini USB cable. Once the software was installed and the printer connected to the PC, Nelson was able to configure the printer’s network connectivity. The Epson Mobilink P60II was quickly connected to his wireless LAN with no issues.

A major factor when it comes to evaluating mobile printers has to be the size and weight of the units. On paper and in person, it’s easy to see the physical differences among the reviewed units. At .66 lbs with battery and paper, the Zebra unit was the lighted of the group tested.

    For our review of rugged 4-inch mobile label printers, we partnered with VAR Paragon Print Systems to leverage the company’s years of bar-coding expertise and facilities. To determine which printers to test, we relied on the results from January’s Best Channel Vendor survey. Using that survey data, which came from thousands of VARs and ISVs, we were able to narrow the field down to those manufacturers readers told us had the most reliable, feature-rich printers. Using that data, we had a field of 11 potential manufacturers.
