Payment Processing, Inc. In October 2007, Visa® announced new payment application security mandates. Although directed at acquirers and their agents, the mandates impact software developers by specifying that their customers use compliant applications to process credit card transactions. Effective October 1, 2009, acquirers and their agents were to decertify all vulnerable payment applications. They will be allowed to board businesses using only compliant applications after July 1, 2010.

- PayPros Payment Application Risk Scoring. Using the PayPros Payment Risk Scoring online portal, PPI helps developers understand their current state of compliance and directs resolutions before requiring the involvement of a Qualified Security Assessor. Developers can obtain validation for $7,995 (typical costs range from $15,000 to $30,000).
- PayPros Payment Application Risk Scoring and encrypted swipe for credit transactions or tokenization. Developers using this service can obtain validation for $4,995.
- PayPros Payment Application Risk Scoring and encrypted swipe for credit, debit and hand keyed transactions. Developers using this service can obtain a validation for $4,000.
- PCI revalidation. Developers using any of the PPI services can obtain a revalidation for $2,995 (typical revalidation ranges from $8,000 to $10,000).
Prices do not include PCI SSC listing fees.
