Acquisition Watch

It has been an interesting week in the world of network security as two large security vendors take action to expand their portfolios. On Tuesday, GFI rolled out GFI MAX, its rebranding of newly acquired managed services platform vendor HoundDog. That move provides a solid security backbone for former HoundDog partners, and opens up the world of managed security services for the GFI channel.

Now, news that McAfee will acquire MX Logic, a hosted email security and archiving vendor, has hit, meaning McAfee has now added security as a service to its portfolio. I'm intrigued about what other news might lay around the bend ...
