CompTIA CertMaster Expands Product Line With The Addition Of The New CompTIA Network+ Exam

CompTIA, the IT industry association and leader in vendor-neutral skills certifications for the global IT workforce, recently announced the latest expansion of its CompTIA CertMaster learning portfolio.

A CompTIA CertMaster course is now available for the new CompTIA Network+ exam (N10-006) released this month.

CompTIA Network+ is the leading vendor-neutral certification for networking professionals. The credential validates that an individual has the knowledge and skills to configure, manage and troubleshoot today’s networks. More than 400,000 people are CompTIA Network+ certified.

The new CompTIA CertMaster course maps to new content in the exam, including subjects such as software defined networks, cloud and virtualization; physical and virtual network segmentation;, wireless and mobile device management, support and security; digital forensics techniques and more.

CompTIA CertMaster is an online, confidence-based learning solution that helps individuals learn information faster and to retain information more effectively for the long term. The software combines key principles of brain science, neurobiology, cognitive psychology and game study to help learners master – not just memorize – the information they need to know.

“CompTIA CertMaster is focused on learner engagement,” said Thomas Reilly, vice president, CompTIA Learning. “Each learner has a distinct path going through the product, a learning fingerprint. Throughout the course the learner is exposed to four key motivational triggers: progression, risk, achievement and curiosity. Working in combination, these triggers create a positive feedback loop for the learner.”

One of the biggest challenges with e-learning is that without the constructs of a classroom and a teacher, students can get discouraged or distracted and abandon the class. With CompTIA CertMaster, about 95 percent of learners who enter a course follow through to mastery of the subject matter.

CompTIA CertMaster allows each individual to learn at his or her own pace. The program bookmarks progress, so the student continues where they left off the next time they log in. The product is also completely mobile and accessible from a variety of devices, including a CertMaster app for the iPhone or Android smartphones.

A CompTIA CertMaster course is also available for the previous version of the CompTIA Network+ exam (N10-005). Individuals already training for this edition of the exam have until Aug. 31, 2015 to complete the English language version of the test before it is retired. Foreign language versions of this exam will retire on Dec. 31, 2015.
