Datacap Systems Adds Support For Voltage Security P2PE

Datacap has announced completion of the integration of Voltage SecureData Payments, the leading point-to-point payments encryption solution (P2PE), to its retail payment interfaces. Support of this powerful solution can help merchants that use one of Datacap’s Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partners to maintain complete separation of cardholder data from their integrated POS application environment. Voltage SecureData Payments uses a patented innovation called Format-Preserving Encryption to encrypt sensitive PCI data captured in a payment device so that the protected value has the same format as the original.  The Datacap solution transmits the sensitive data fully encrypted to the Voltage payment processing partner where it can be safely decrypted for authorization.

Datacap’s NETePay for TSYS (host and terminal-based platforms) now supports Voltage SecureData Payments for clients using the UIC PP795SE PIN Pad, and support for other processors and payment devices will be added in the future.

“Datacap’s Out-of-Scope payment interfaces are utilized by security-conscious ISVs, so the addition of Voltage E2E encryption is a natural product progression,” commented Justin Zeigler, Marketing Director at Datacap Systems. “Providing a secure payments solution without compromising integration or ease of installation is our priority and I think we’ve accomplished that here with Voltage and UIC.”

“We are excited to offer this cutting edge technology to deliver secure and robust payment devices through Datacap’s integration partners. Datacap’s out-of-scope payment interface and our MSR, EMV and NFC-enabled  (3 in 1) pin pads will simplify the complex payment security key management and also establish the highest level of security to protect payment operators and cardholders from fraud,“ said Albert Li,  general manager/vice president , UIC.

“We see the headlines every day -- retailers are increasingly faced with tremendous pressure and risk when it comes to payment processing and it cuts to the core of their business by impacting customer trust. Malware in the retail IT systems, especially the traditional POS, has resulted in major costly breaches worldwide. We take our role as a technology partner very seriously.  Working with Datacap gives merchants using their ISV partners’ POS software applications the opportunity to quickly and easily activate Voltage P2PE and immediately protect against PCI data loss,” explained Mark Bower, vice president of product management, Voltage Security.
