PITTSBURGH … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today introduced Foreseer® X-Class software, which empowers Fortune 500 customers to monitor their entire power system in a single power management system that covers multiple sites and facilities. Foreseer X-Class software is designed to monitor, track and analyze data from more than 100,000 devices simultaneously across an enterprise. With extensive data handling and scalability, Foreseer X-Class software gathers data and status information from power, environmental, safety and security systems to help companies reduce energy consumption as well as unplanned downtime.

“Global companies are looking to reduce energy consumption and control power costs, while improving the reliability of their systems and offices,” said Marcus Maxwell, product manager at Eaton. “By providing system scalability to track data from multiple sites at a single location, Foreseer X-Class can help large customers anticipate and solve problems before they occur.”

With extensive analysis and reporting capabilities, the Foreseer X-Class software provides a customized executive dashboard to help track and predict power usage trends and events, and improve energy efficiency. The software is engineered for companies with global operations and a vast array of devices. Foreseer X-Class enables communications with equipment, regardless of make or model. The information and reporting capabilities work together to support a reliable and efficient power system, and enables customers to proactively manage their systems.

The Foreseer X-Class software can track and manage up to 512,000 data streams, including: energy, power, peak demand, power factor, device status, revolutions per minute (rpm), fuel levels and numerous other data points. The software can also be configured to work in a high-availability cluster for maximum redundancy

The Foreseer Manager of Managers (MOM) software option provides a single dashboard to manage and control up to 500 Foreseer Servers anywhere on the network. A distributed Foreseer topology can be easily centralized in this fashion at a company’s headquarters using this feature.

Additional benefits of the Foreseer X-Class software include:

  • Foreseer SightLine predictive trend analysis enables customers to project when a channel or data point may cross an alarm threshold – to help identify, avoid problems before an alarm would be triggered.
  • Support for standard and proprietary communication protocols enables users to acquire key operational data from devices via SNMP, OPC, Modbus, BACnet IP, LONworks®, and proprietary serial products.
  • Six-Sigma statistical tools enable custom analysis that can incorporate best practices and yield additional savings.
  • Full service turnkey engineering services provide fully customizable implementation of Foreseer X-Class.
