A former staple of AIDC (automatic identification and data collection) sales revenue, the warehouse and distribution center (DC) market is worth taking a second look at.

During the last recession, the retail market along with its next of kin — supply chain and logistics — experienced major layoffs and revenue declines that resulted in a negative trickledown effect among many AIDC VARs. Subsequently, many of these same VARs moved into more stable markets such as healthcare, food, and grocery. Despite the negative memories from the past, this market has been posting strong growth numbers for the past few years, and the outlook for the foreseeable future looks even stronger. Perhaps it’s time to give this market a second look.
