First Steps Toward Customer Engagement

If you’ve read much about the rising need of customer engagement technologies within retail, you might be feeling overwhelmed. After all, many of the case studies being promoted feature high-profile retailers with deep pockets or enough clout to be sought after for test pilots. The challenge for most VARs is figuring out how these solutions can be applied to a typical small retailer with a limited IT budget. In many cases, it can become overwhelming when one considers all the possible options and obstacles. That said, there is some prerequisite work that can be done to get headed in the right direction, and at a minimal cost. For example, a unified customer and inventory database is a must-have for any future customer engagement solution you implement for any retailer, but especially those with multiple locations.
