Hani Girgis Appointed European Chairman Of AIIM's Executive Leadership Council

Deloitte ECM practice lead will look to cement ELC’s central position in European Enterprise Content Management industry

Information management analyst group and global information management professional body AIIM has announced the appointment of Hani Girgis as the new European Chairman of its Executive Leadership Council (ELC).  

Girgis also heads up the Enterprise Content Management Practice within Deloitte Analytics, and is regarded as one of the leading ECM practitioners in Europe, having previously headed up the UK/I Portal & Content Management group within Accenture Information Management Services (AIMS).

The AIIM Executive Leadership Council is the principal think tank for European ECM, bringing together the industry’s top thinkers, vendors, end users and industry analysts twice a year to discuss, debate and explore the key industry issues. The findings from each meeting are published as AIIM Trendscape reports which forecast the changes the industry will incur over the next 24 months and set priorities to take advantage of these changes.

In a new era of business which must factor in social, mobile and cloud computing, AIIM’s Executive Leadership Council has two main goals: to articulate the impact that these new technologies will have on the workplace, and define specific use cases for how the technologies can transform organizations and ways of work.

Speaking about his appointment, Girgis said, “The ELC has consistently produced some of the most interesting and valued content around the changing nature of ECM and I am looking forward enormously to contributing to that. I’ve spent much of my career in the sector and the ELC has long stood out as one of the most important industry bodies, so to be a part of that is a great opportunity.”

In addition to the content produced each year, the ELC also delivers an excellent networking opportunity for attendees, with chances to meet some of the highest profile members of the European ECM community. Current members of the European ELC include Fujitsu, IBM, Canon, Deloitte and Capita.
