For this hundred-million-dollar VAR, beating its biggest growth stall in 17 years required giving up some executive control to a firebrand with new — and at times unorthodox — ideas.
Paul Kozak boasted a pretty solid pedigree when he and his wife Sue launched MNJ Technologies in 2002. A lifelong channel IT guy, he started his career at mega-VAR CDW in 1987. For a bit of perspective, CDW was generating $25 million in annual revenue that year. When Kozak left the company in 2001, that figure had ballooned to $4 billion. Today, it’s north of $16 billion.
